Little History

The Greek philosopher Theophratus (the successor to Aristotle) gave Agate it's name because he found the first Agate Gemstone in the Achates River which is present day Sicily in Italy.

Blue Lace Agate in particular is today recognised as one of the most beautiful of all the Agate Gemstones and also the most rarest of them.

It was first discovered in 1967 by George Swanson who found the Blue Lace variety of Agates on a farm in Namibia.

He nicknamed this beautiful and rare Gemstone 'The Gem of Ecology' because the pale blue and creamy white swirling type patterns that run through them, reminded him of the earth and the clouds.
