*Lapis Lazuli is known as the oldest Spiritual Gemstone known to man.

A Little History

In Ancient Times these Gemstones were known as treasures and were mainly used for Royalty because of their expense, beauty and lavishness of them.

The sarcophagus - (Stone coffin that was used in Ancient Times and lavishly decorated with Gemstones and inscriptions) of the famous Egyptian Pharaoh, King Tutankahmun  was laden with Lapis Lazuli and over the years Archaeologists have discovered many of these Gemstones from within the tombs of other Egyptian Pharaoh's.

Approximately around 400 BC Lapis Lazuli was discovered from one of the oldest mines in the World, known as the Chert Mine that is in Nazlet Sabaha, Garb, Egypt and located on the Western Banks of the River Nile, this mine is believed to still be in operation to this very day.

Natural and Genuine  Lapis Lazuli Gemstones will occasionally (Depending on each Gemstone) have Gold streak like markings running through them and they are created from four other known Gemstones which are Lazurite, Calcite, Sodalite and Pyrite which is also referred to as Fools Gold, they are then formed by a process called Contact Metamorphism which means the texture of rock minerals are changed caused by extreme heat and contact with the Magma deep within the earths crust.

Mohs Scale: 5 - 6

(The Scale Number from 1 to 10 given to Gemstones based on their hardness and ability to Scratch another Gemstone)
