A Little History
The word Malachite is believed to come from the Greek word Malache which is said to mean Mallow, a green leafy herb.
During the Middle Ages, Malachite was used to protect against evil eye - (Gaze or stare said to cause harm to the receiver)
Ancient Greeks and Romans used these Gemstones for Jewellery, ornaments and would also crush them until they turned to powder and would then use as an eye-shadow.
As early as 4,000 BC, there were Malachite mines in use between Suez and Sinai in Egypt.
These Beautiful Gemstones are very popular because of the intricate markings on them and stunning rich green colours that helps to take people back to their roots of nature.
